We are Jess and Will, and we run Jungle Jess Tree Service from our base in Bonogin.
Between us we have more than 16 years in arboriculture. We are qualified arborists, which is not the same thing as a tree lopper. An arborist assesses the tree first and then cuts what the tree actually needs. That difference is why a job done properly still looks right in five years.
With years of experience in tree care and arboriculture, we pride ourselves on providing safe, efficient, and affordable tree removal services.
Sixteen years of refining how a job runs. The tree gets assessed before anything is cut, the rigging goes up before the climber does, and material is chipped as it comes down. That is why a big tree comes out of a tight yard without touching the fence.
We handle the full range of tree work across the Gold Coast, from a single palm to a multi-day acreage clear.
Before we started Jungle Jess, we were the crew large commercial tree companies called in when a job was too hard. Trees in tight side yards. Dead trees nobody wanted to climb. Trees leaning over a neighbour’s shed with no room to drop anything.
That work taught us rigging and dismantling properly, because there was no other way to get those trees down without wrecking something. We still use those skills every week on Gold Coast blocks where there is a pool on one side, a fence on the other and a metre of clearance in between
You ring, we book a time to come out. Not a phone quote based on a photo. We come and look at the tree.
You get a booking confirmation, then live tracking on the day. Our system texts you when we are on the way, so you are not sitting at home guessing.
We assess the tree and tell you what we actually think. If it can be saved, we will say so. Pruning is usually cheaper than removal, so nobody makes money by talking you into the wrong job. You also get a free visual health check on the other trees while we are there.
You get a written quote with the scope spelled out. No vague one-liners. You can see what is included, what is being taken away and what is being left.
Once you book, we send a reminder a week out and again 48 hours before. Then live tracking on the morning of the job.
We clean up to the tier you selected. Your quote sets out exactly what the clean-up includes, so you know before we start whether the site is being raked, blown down or left with mulch and firewood stacked for you. Green waste goes into the 18 cubic metre mulch truck and leaves with us. If you would rather keep the mulch or the timber, tell us at the quote and we will price it that way.
We run an 18 inch, 264 horsepower chipper, that 18 cubic metre mulch truck and an Avant articulated loader with a 360 degree rotating grapple. The Avant matters more than it sounds. It shifts timber like an excavator but does not chew up your lawn like a tracked machine does.
Faster processing means fewer hours on site. Fewer hours means a smaller invoice. That is the whole reason we bought it.

We are based in Bonogin, so the hinterland is home turf: Mudgeeraba , Tallai, Worongary , Tallebudgera Valley . We work right across the coast as well, from Nerang through to Hope Island , and out to Jimboomba in the Logan corridor.
Book a free onsite quote and we will come and have a look. If you would rather read up first, we answer the common questions on costs, permits and pruning in plain English on the blog .
It depends on the size of the tree, how hard it is to get to, and how much green waste comes out of it. We charge a team rate of $660 per hour, and a discounted full day rate of $4,400 for around 7.5 hours on site. Most residential jobs are quoted as a fixed price after we have seen the tree, so you know the number before we start.
Often, yes. Gold Coast City Council protects a lot of vegetation on private land through its Vegetation Management Code, and there are exemptions based on tree size and how close it sits to your house or fence. We check this at the quote and tell you where you stand
Arborists offer a wide range of services, including tree pruning and trimming, tree removal, stump grinding, tree planting, pest and disease management, cabling and bracing, and emergency tree care.
Yes. Fully licensed and insured, on every job. If you want to see the certificate of currency before we start, ask and we will send it through.
Usually. Tight access is most of what we do. We climb and dismantle in sections when there is no room to fell, and the Avant loader fits through gaps a bigger machine will not.
